By Dan Shapley

Environmentalists, Australians, and albino whale lovers alike have joined forces to protest Japanese whaling fleets. In a report from Scottish newspaper, The Scotsman, Australian whale Migaloo, the only known white humpback whale in existence, could be slaughtered as Japan's whaling fleet prepares to embark on its annual hunt in the Southern Ocean.

Migaloo, an aboriginal word that means, “white fellow,” has become an Australian celebrity as he glides up from Antarctica to the warmer waters of Australia. The annual journey has become a national spectacle—instilling a deep love for the modern day Moby Dick. In an attempt to block the harpoons, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has launched "Operation Migaloo,” to deflect Japanese harpoons.
