Talking the talk is just as important as walking the walk, if you're answering phones and collecting donations for BP Oil Spill relief, that is. Celebrities like Jenny McCarthy, Robert Redford, Chelsea Handler and Justin Bieber worked the phones last night on CNN's Larry King Live telethon, "Disaster in the Gulf: How You Can Help" program.

Donations, $1.81 million in total, went to United Way, National Wildlife Federation and The Nature Conservancy, and all of these nonprofits are still accepting donations. Larry King said the donations were a way to circumvent the red tape that might come with trying to get money from BP.

Check out Heart of Green winner Ted Danson and other celebs answering the phones at the telethon. CNN quoted Danson saying, "It was important for him to 'hear people's emotions, their fear and sadness' when they called in donations."
