Adelaide, the fifth-largest city in Australia, is expected to record its longest heat wave in recorded history today, according to the Australia Broadcasting Corp. Temperatures today are expected to top 95 degrees (F).

This will be the ninth day of a heat wave, and the exceptionally hot weather for the southern coastal city is expected to last another week.

Eight-day heat waves have been recorded eight times, but never a nine-day, according to the ABC.
