The 2010 Heart of Green Awards Featured on Access Hollywood

The 2010 Heart of Green Awards celebrate individuals, organizations and companies that help green go mainstream. The 2010 ceremony, held at the LEED Gold-certified Hearst Tower in New York City was a celebration of optimism, as individuals working on issues ranging from chronic childhood illnesses to ocean conservation won awards for making real progress, while engaging the public at large.

The 2010 winners are (click for profiles and video of acceptance speeches):

• Ted Danson, actor and oceans advocate: Lifetime Achievement
• Dr. Philip Landrigan, pioneering pediatrician: The Protector
• John Flicker, leader of the National Audubon Society: The Steward
• Jamie Oliver, celebrity chef: The Food Revolutionary
• Josie Maran, founder of a nontoxic cosmetics line: The Role Model
• Tracey Ryder and Carole Topalian, founders of Edible Communities: The Ground Breakers
• Fred Schaeffer, chairman of Walkway Over the Hudson: Local Hero
