On February 1, BusinessWeek, Inhabitat, Marc Alt + Partners and the McGraw Hill Conference Center in Midtown Manhattan will host the first ever Greener Gadgets Conference. The focus will be on emerging sustainable technology in consumer electronics and sustainable design.
The all-day event will feature keynote presentations from digital environmental artist Chris Jordan, inventor and artist Natalie Jeremijenko, Mary Lou Jepsen from One Laptop Per Child Project, as well as environmental sustainability leaders from the world's largest consumer electronics brands, such as HP, Nokia, Sony and Philips.
Panel discussions will cover electronics recycling programs, energy efficiency, and emerging renewable energy sources for cell phones and laptops. Also check out the audience judging of the Greener Gadgets Design Competition.
