How do we make the green revolution march?
That's the question USA Today asks today, as it explores the sometimes sluggish pace of the adoption of environmentally friendly practices.
Research suggests, in the words of USA Today, that these four factors are key to growing the movements. Individuals will change if:
They think others similar to themselves are jumping on the "green" bandwagon.
They get frequent positive feedback for effort.
They feel able to make a difference by taking concrete steps.
They think their children will be harmed by global warming, or children encourage the family to lead a greener life.
Everybody's doing it. Good job. You're great. Every little bit counts. Your children will thank you. Did we tell you how great you're doing?
