Van Jones, the influential special adviser on green jobs to the White House Council on Environmental Quality, is featured in these White House videos explaining what exactly green jobs are. Jones, whose book The Green Collar Economy basically elevated the concept of green jobs into the national dialog, was among The Daily Green's nominees for a 2009 Heart of Green Award.

In this video, he examines what is likely to be the most common and widespread category of green jobs available: home weatherization specialists. As has been suggested before, the most important piece of technology in the green economy will be the caulk gun.

In this video, Jones tells us more about green roofs and their many benefits for the environment, the economy and low-income communities. (Also check out this feature from The Daily Green for more information about green roofs and their cousins, vertical gardens.)
