Environmentalists, the state of California and the world's biggest car manufacturers have not had a lot to agree on lately. California has, after all, been legislating and suing everyone possible, with the backing of environmental groups, to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from cars, and auto makers have not welcomed the suggestion.
But Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Environmental Defense Fund and the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers can agree on one thing: Drivers can save money on gas by improving their driving habits.
And so, the Governator joined EDF, Gov. Ritter of Colorado and the carmakers to launch ecodrivingusa.com, a site that includes a green driving calculator, tips for saving money on the road (don't tailgate!) and other features designed to help us all drive our cars better ...
... Whatever, ahem!, the automakers seem to be saying, cars (or SUVs) we might drive.
