Make That Organic Freedom Fries

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has put the days of Freedom Fries – that unsavory episode that had Americans expressing patriotism by bashing France – far behind.

As part of her "Greening the Capitol" initiative, Pelosi has made the Longworth cafeteria serve up organic, sustainable and local food choices, according to the Los Angeles Times. There's utensils and plates made from recycled, recyclable and renewable materials. The coffee is shade grown and Fair Trade certified.

It's a far cry from the old deli-style cafeteria.

And if happens in the capitol, it can't be long before we figure out how to get healthy and sustainable foods into the cafeterias of the nation's schools. Right?
