Today marks the birthday of Dr. Seuss, the venerable rhyming author whose books continue to inspire children and adults alike long after his death in 1991. Dr. Seuss would have been 106 today.
Among his memorable books, and one that is most dear to environmentalists, is The Lorax, which dealt with environmental degradation and the loss of nature.
The Lorax, of course, "speaks for the trees." And, because his character was written so memorably, he still does:
