While repeated studies have shown that it does nothing to save us energy, the annual start of Daylight Savings Time, when we "spring ahead" does at least buy us another hour of evening daylight, which may be enough after a long dark winter.
Whether or not it's worthwhile, it's time to set the clocks ahead one hour, starting at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 13.
The first day of spring follows about a week later, when the Spring Equinox bring equal hours of daylight and darkness on March 20. (The specific moment when spring technically begins is pegged to 7:21 p.m. EDT.)
