Previous studies have linked good nutrition to good lung health. Kids who are breast fed are less likely to develop asthma, while those who eat fast food are more likely.

Now, new research published in Thorax links asthma incidence to the lack of two key nutrients -- Vitamin A and Vitamin C. The study analyzed the results of 40 studies since 1980, and concluded that while low Vitamin A and Vitamin C levels is associated with asthma incidence, low Vitamin E levels are not.

Significantly, the researchers don't recommend taking supplements -- just eating varied and healthy foods.

The Daily Green has compiled the top 10 real food sources of both Vitamin A and Vitamin C, and coupled them with healthy recipes. Here's one more reason to eat healthy real foods!
