Global Warming Is No Party Game

By Dan Shapley

You've heard of the party game Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, where any celebrity can be connected to the ubiquitous actor with just six connections.

Well, Alec Baldwin has a different take. In Six Degrees Could Change the World, the actor narrates an apocalyptic glimpse into a world where headlines are shaped much less by celebrity gossip.

Instead, the world is marked by extinctions, strife and a new human struggle to survive. (At least, that's how it looks in Six Degrees: Our Future on a Hotter Planet, the Mark Lynas book that inspired the show, which warns: "Were this scenario to be a television program, it would be prefaced by a note of caution – some viewers may find some of the following scenes upsetting.")

So, if you're up for a little reality horror TV, tune in to the National Geographic Channel on Sunday, Feb. 10, at 8 p.m. ET/9 p.m. PT. If you just can't wait, check out a cool graphic at the Nat Geo Website that lets you browse through a possible warmer world of tomorrow degree by frightening degree.
