Typhoon Peipah Nears Vietnam, Where 46 Are Dead From Flooding

Typhoon Peipah is nearing Vietnam, after killing five people in the Philippines and leaving 500 homeless. Vietnam is already suffering from extensive flooding that has killed at least 46 people have been reported dead in the past 10 days, according to various news accounts.

According to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, the storm packs 86 mph winds, making it a Category 1 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale.

This is only the latest typhoon to sweep across Vietnam this year. At least 200 people have died from heavy rains and flooding in recent months, according to Reuters.
