In a move certain to change the landscape of the 2008 Presidential campaign, long-time consumer advocate Ralph Nader today announced his plan to enter the race to the White House. Nader announced this plan on NBC News' Meet The Press with Tim Russert.

This is the third run for the Presidency for Nader, who typically runs on a platform of fighting corporate control of the government, military waste and human rights.

Many left of center voters have often expressed their anger at Nader's past candidacies, claiming in particular that his first bid pulled enough votes away from Democrat Al Gore in the November 2000 elections to allow Republican George Bush to win.

In announcing his run, Nader criticized both the leading Democratic and Republican candidates for ignoring issues such as labor law reform, corporate crime, corporate lobbyists in key government positions, citing these as the major factors spurring him to throw his hat in the ring one more time.
