What do public interest polls, prolific media reports, corporate initiatives and Congressional hearings have in common? They all show that global warming has taken its place in the consciousness of Americans. The groundswell of interest is giving this Earth Day a particularly popular appeal. As an issue, climate change is so pervasive -- we all contribute to it, and we all stand to be affected by it -- that it's galvanizing the environmental movement in a way not seen in a generation.
