Sen. Sam Brownback is reportedly dropping out of the presidential race today, giving up his bid to be the Republican nominee.
As a senator, Brownback never scored particularly highly on the League of Conservation Voters' assessment of environmental voting records. Brownback never scored higher than 29% since 1999, and twice scored just 4%. LCV rates legislators based on their voting record against the group's priority laws.
As a candidate, Brownback had recently been talking about global warming as a religious issue, according to the New York Times. He opposed caps on carbon dioxide emissions from industry.
