Category 4 Hurricane Still Packs 143 MPH Sustained Winds

Typhoon Krosa remained a Category 4 storm after lashing Taiwan with heavy rains and strong winds, according to the latest report from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center. Air and sea traffic was disrupted, the Associated Press reported.

The 14th Category 4 or 5 hurricane to form around the world this year, Typhoon Krosa still packs 143 mph winds, according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center.

China was bracing for the storm, state-run media reported. Nearly 140,000 people have been evacuated.
