Tropical Storm Juliette Forms in Pacific

After Growing from a Tropical Depression, Juliette May Disintegrate Within a Couple Days

Tropical Storm Juliette, which formed late Saturday in the Pacific Ocean south of Baja California, is expected to retain tropical storm force winds for only a day and a half or so, before it passes cooler waters and loses strength, according to the National Hurricane Center.

It is the 10th named storm in the eastern north Pacific this year. The others have been Alvin, Barbara, Cosme, Dalila, Erick, Flossie, Gil, Henriette, and Ivo.

The names that will be used if additional storms develop will be Kiko, Lorena, Manuel, Narda, Octave, Priscilla, Raymond, Sonia, Tico, Velma, Wallis, Xina, York and Zelda.
