The National Hurricane Center is tracking a subtropical depression in the Atlantic far off the East Coast of the United States that could form into a tropical storm later today or tonight. Subtropical Depression 11 is expected to start moving north over the open waters of the north central Atlantic. It's 35 mph maximum sustained winds could increase to tropical storm force later today or tonight.

It isn't the only storm in the Atlantic region. A system nearly 700 south-southwest of the Cape Verde Islands could form into a tropical depression later today, a low-pressure system 575 miles east of the Windward Islands could form into a tropical depression within the next day or two, and a plane is headed to investigate an area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico that holds potential for storm formation.
