Tropical Depression Forms in Pacific

Disturbance Off Coast of Mexico Could Reach Tropical Storm Strength

A tropical depression with sustained winds approaching 30 mph has formed off the West Coast of Mexico, about 670 miles south-southeast from the southern tip of Baja California. It is moving west-northwest at nearly 13 mph.

The storm has a better than 45% chance of producing tropical storm-strength winds in the next several days, according to National Hurricane Center charts. The National Hurricane Center issued its first advisory about the storm today. Wind Speed Probability Chart National Hurricane Center
