At least 10 people in South Korea died as Typhoon Nari -- the 12th Category 4 or 5 hurricane of the year -- continued its destructive path through the Pacific, according to South Korean news, Yonhap.
The storm also left flooding and power outages in its wake. The typhoon hit faster than originally expected, as it sped up in the open water. Provinces in eastern China were bracing for heavy rains and strong winds as the typhoon bore down on them, according to Chinese state-run media. The storm is expected to skirt China, not making a direct landfall, but it will bring with it heavy rains.
