Tropical Storm Ingrid, the ninth named storm of the hurricane season, formed in the Atlantic Ocean overnight, and continues to churn about 800 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph. While the storm could strengthen further, wind sheer is expected to inhibit significant further development.
A NOAA Hurricane Hunter plane is en route to investigate the storm further.
