Criterion Investments Gives People Socially Conscious Investment Option Criterion Investments launches its new global clean-energy investment fund today, according to the Toronto Star. The move is another indicator that the new green economy, based on reducing carbon emissions and boosting energy efficiency, has the potential to make real money.

About 40% of the fund's investments are in U.S. companies. It invests in wind, hydro and solar-power projects, but will not invest in nuclear power. Though it produces relatively little air pollution, nuclear waste remains radioactive for thousands of years, and safety issues concern those living near plants.
