Floods Displaces Thousands in India and Bangladesh

At Least 800,000 People Displaced in Latest Indian Flood; At Least 840 Dead in Bangladesh Since July

The skies are unrelenting across parts of India and Bangladesh, where monsoonal rains have continued to produce successive rounds of devastating flooding. The heavy monsoon rains came early this year, devastating parts of India and Pakistan in June.

In India, 800,000 people were displaced overnight in the country's Northeast. Since July, that region has seen 54 people die and 8 million affected by flooding. In Bangladesh, at least 840 people have died from flooding since July, according to Reuters. Seven died and thousands were stranded in the last round of flooding.
