Don't get down about the state of the world -- invest in its future. That's the underlying theme of Ron Pernick and Clint Wilder's new book, The Clean Tech Revolution.
Entrepreneurs find investors and develop products that become integrated into mainstream American culture, and it happens all the time. Just add "green" as a modifier to each step in that process -- including mainstream -- and you have a big piece of the solution to many of the country and world's environmental problems, argue the authors.
In other words, when it makes money to save the planet, no one will do it better than America. And, the authors say, it does make money. The time is now, with huge government investments and policies supporting renewable energy and energy efficiency, and a mass movement among consumers demanding product alternatives that are better for the environment.
We couldn't agree more.
