Tropical Storm Felix Nears Caribbean Islands

Storm Alerts In Place for Eastern Caribbean And Northern S. America

Tropical Storm Felix, the sixth named storm in the Atlantic this season, is nearing Barbados, St. Vincent, Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and Grenada.

A storm watch is in effect also on the northern coast of Venezuela, according to the latest report from the National Hurricane Center.

The storm has maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and growing, with higher gusts. Its strength has been increasing, and it is expected to continue to strengthen today.
