By Dan Shapley

The fight hasn't completely left Dean, but he's been downgraded from a hurricane to tropical storm after a week-long ride through the Caribbean that brought death to several in the islands, significant damage to Jamaica and a temporary disruption to Mexico's oil supply.

Dean still carries some punch, with 70 mph sustained winds -- with tropical storm-force winds felt as far as 275 miles away -- but he is expected to dissipate over the mountains of central Mexico tonight or early Thursday morning, according to the latest report from the National Hurricane Center.
