An invasive bug's suburban life

The Emerald ash borer has destroyed 10 million trees in Canada and the United States since 2002, and quarantines designed to contain its spread are reaching a real-world suburban hiccup: The spring cleanup. In two quarantined counties in Illinois, municipal tree and leaf gathering is in a state of confusion, as local leaders and residents wonder what to do with potentially-infested debris. How they answer that question could have far-reaching impact on many other states, which are relying on Illinois to contain the beetle so it can't decimate forests far and wide.
