Kiss My Face, a natural products maker based on an organic farm in Gardiner, N.Y., is partnering with Whole Foods and the Alliance for Climate Control on a new campaign: "Can Lip Balm Save The Planet?"

It's more pedestrian question is: Can a lip balm raise $1 million for a climate change advocacy group? Kiss My Face is marketing its new line of "Lip Action" balms with catchy flavors like "Berry Warm" and "Mango Melt." Whole Foods will be the only retailer to sell the balm.

Bob MacLeod, president of Kiss My Face, said the balms could serve as daily reminders to people that little choices can make a big difference, when it comes to the climate and our impact on future generations. One dollar from the sale of each balm, retailing for $3.49, will be donated to the Alliance for Climate Protection, as part of their continued mission to persuade the American people -- and people elsewhere in the world -- of the importance and urgency of adopting and implementing effective and comprehensive solutions for the climate crisis.

“We believe that consumers pay attention to companies on issues like climate change when the companies themselves have made a commitment to making the world a better place, and we're very proud to be the beneficiary of this important effort,” Cathy Zoi, CEO of The Alliance for Climate Control, said in a news release. The balms go on sale today.
