Arnold Swarzenegger, the green giant of California politics, is taking his message - that tries to embrace both Hummers and conservation - to a national audience. The environmental movement has been too focused on guilt, and needs instead to channel its passion for conservation into new technologies that allow us to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle. In other words, don't forget to have fun. The Republican California governor and former Terminator has earned himself a spot on the soapbox by working with Democrats to pass the nation's toughest climate change control rules. He's using that leverage not only to get his face plastered on national magazines, but to lobby the Bush EPA on a critical issue - his state's drive to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles. Even his own Hummers.
