Paris Hilton Wants A Hybrid Hummer

As part of the Paris2.0 tour following her incarceration, Paris Hilton is talking about greening up.

Yes, Paris Hilton is talking about buying a hybrid car in yet another sign that green is hot. But Paris doesn't want a hybrid that fits in a handbag. For the suddenly reformed hedonist heiress, the current crop of vehicles available "aren't that cute."

She'd rather see a hybrid Hummer, and tells USA Today that she's trying to get one designed. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has made a similar call for green technology that satisfies the impulses of the rich and famous to play hard and be seen.

Of course, the military has already developed and used hybrid Hummers -- which are valued for their stealthily quiet operation and fuel efficiency. They're just not available on the U.S. market.

But, hey, if anyone can pony up enough cash or cajole her way into a one-of-a-kind vehicle, Paris can, right? As easy to poke fun at Paris as it is, the moves she makes are watched around the country by both those who adore and abhor her. It can't hurt to have her be seen stepping out of a hybrid car, because wherever she goes she will be seen.
