Japan Slammed By Typhoon, Lapped By Tsunami

After A Small Tsunami In The North, A Powerful Typhoon Strikes The South

An 6.4-magnitude earthquake near Russia's Sakhalin island triggered a tiny tsunami detected in the Sea of Japan, on Japan's northernmost island of Hokkaido.

In the south, a powerful typhoon, Usagi, made landfall, leading to transportation isolation, power failures and at least three injuries. It is the fifth typhoon of the season.
