China has invested nearly $100 million (in U.S. dollars) in clean vehicle technology in advance of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Its aim is to clear the air of some of the notorious pollution that fogs the city, and to develop technologies that can help limit the country's world-leading emissions of greenhouse gases.

That should help make the Olympics a showcase for green technologies, and bring an environmental awareness to the world's premiere sports event.
