Consumers can expect bountiful wild Pacific salmon in stores this spring and fall, thanks to a recent decision that expands certain fishing areas. The Klamath River run has recovered so well that officials will allow more fishing there, even as they restrict fishing on the Columbia River, where salmon numbers are still low. Oceans Alive publishes a buyers guide that aids people who want to choose contaminant-free and sustainably harvested fish. It lists wild salmon as one of the better choices.
