More Global Warming Education, And Less History

Britain Revises Its Curriculum. Should The United States?

Out with the old and in with the new. The hottest topic of the day, global warming, is getting a new and exalted status in the British educational system, which means Winston Churchill, Jane Austen and other traditional staples may get less emphasis as a result.

Is it time for a similar re-emphasis in America? Most students don't even touch American history past about World War II as it is. Math and reading scores are a perpetual concern. "Science literacy" is at the heart of many scientists' concern over the current state of popular misconceptions about global warming.
