China Floods Affect 100 Million

Evacuation Is Seen, Largely, As Success In Face Of Epic Deluge

The flooding in China is forecast to continue for days, after epic rains have already spurred the evacuation of more than 1 million people, the death of 500 and the inundation of 100 million overall.

The unusually strong rains are seen as a once-in-a-century event. But as the British people are learning, scientists believe global warming has increased the chances for intense rains and flooding there. It's not such a stretch to think the same may be true in China.
