Britain's Floods Require Climate Change Planning, Says New PM

Floods Spur Biggest Rescue Airlift Since World War II

Like Texas in the US, England is experiencing weeks of record rains and with them, flooding, power outages, and dramatic rescues.

According to the BBC, new Prime Minister Gordon Brown said "climate change meant planning had to presume more extreme weather events" in light of the current flooding's threat to water treatment plants and power stations.

He added: "Obviously like every advanced industrial country we're coming to terms with some of the issues surrounding climate change." Read the full BBC story here.
