Global Warming Blamed For British Floods

A Month's Worth Of Rain In A Few Hours, And Scientists Say To Expect More

A new scientific report will link global warming with storms like the recent drenching of London and surrounding areas of England -- dubbed The Great Flood Of July (which followed closely on The Great Flood Of June).

While climate scientists have long projected more intense bursts of rain as a more energetic atmosphere unleashes its moisture -- not only in Britain but in America and elsewhere across the globe -- the new analysis will show that rainfall has already increased across parts of the northern hemisphere due to global warming.

More rain in short bursts leads more often to flooding and the economic damage that it causes. In England, thousands are dealing with the after-effects of the flood, which include the contamination of public drinking water supplies.
