Utah's Largest Wildfire Grows, At 500 Acres, Is One Of 61 Burning Throughout The West Firefighters struggled to contain a growing fire in Zion National Park, as it raged toward the park's borders. The 500-acre fire is only one of 61 burning across the West, as an extraordinary fire season continues. here. The Milford Flat fire, which burned 363,052 acres in Utah and went on record as the state's largest in history has been almost completely extinguished. It is 97% contained, according to the Utah fire Web site.
