Red Flag Fire Warning In Nevada, N. California

Nebraska And South Dakota Also Face "Extreme Fire Danger" Wind in the forecast, and continued dry conditions have set the stage for more wildfires in Nevada and parts of Northern California today. The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning -- its highest level of alert -- for a large area in the region. A separate "Extreme Fire Warning" is in effect for a swath of grassland in South Dakota and Nebraska. Across the West, 47 fires are currently burning, according to the latest federal tally.
