More truths from TriBeca filmmakers

By Dan Shapley

Al Gore will host an opening gala for the vaunted TriBeca Film Festival, which will feature seven short films about global warming. Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff were on hand for the announcement with Kevin Wall, founder of the SOS Short Film Program conceived of the global warming short film series. Its goal is to "highlight the problems of, and engage people with solutions for, the global climate crisis." Gore, who's sting as vice president has been overshadowed by his now-famous climate change slide show featured in "An Inconvenient Truth", is co-chair of the Live Earth music series whose mission is also to galvanize support for action to deal with climate change. Live Earth acts - as yet unnamed - will also perform at the April 25 New York City gala.
