Three More Brands Identified As Dangerous The Health Ministry of Canada has identified three additional brands of toothpaste that contain a toxic ingredient originating in China. Diethylene glycol has been found in 24 brands of toothpaste sold in Canada, in addition to dozens of other brands found in the United States and elsewhere around the world. The industrial toxin -- used to make such products as antifreeze -- was used as a cheap substitute for glycerine, after a circuitous route in the international supply chain.
