Tell The USDA What You Think About Organic Proposal

Agency will take public comments for 60 days The Department of Agriculture will take comments from the public for another 60 days about its proposed rule to allow dozens of non-organic ingredients in foods labeled "USDA Organic." For more information on this story, click here. To send your comments to the USDA, follow these instructions: Mail a letter to Robert Pooler, Agricultural Marketing Specialist, National Organic Program, USDA/AMS/TMP/NOP, 1400 Independence Ave., SW, Room 4008-So., Ag Stop 0268, Washington, DC 20250. Be sure to identify your comment with this code: AMS-TM-07-0062. That code corresponds to the USDA organic ingredient proposed rule. The USDA also said that the public should soon be able to comment electronically, by visiting www.regulations.gov. Look for the code AMS-TM-07-0062 to comment on the correct proposal.
