A flood in the Catskill Mountains of New York has claimed at least one life, and several people are still missing. A flash flood overwhelmed the Town of Colchester and surrounding area Wednesday. The Catskills, which supply the drinking water for 9 million people in and around New York City, are prone to flash floods. The relatively inaccessible reaches of the mountains are also virtually cut off from cell phone service, making the search -- and reports about the results of the search -- hard to come by. The flood, near the fly-fishing mecca of Roscoe, arose after nearly eight inches of rain fell in a downpour. Homes were literally washed away. For more on this story, click
