Many Unprepared For Hurricanes

Despite warnings of a very active hurricane season, and the vivid example of Hurricane Katrina's wrath still fresh in their minds, most Americans at risk from hurricane-related trauma have done nothing to prepare. A recent poll found that 53 % of people surveyed in 18 Atlantic and Gulf Coast states didn't feel vulnerable to a major storm, and a whopping 88 % had done nothing to fortify their homes.
