From the company that become synonymous with search-and-discover by taming the Web's wilds for the benefit of average users, comes a move to tackle big real world problems like climate change, healthcare and global economic development. If plug-in hybrid electric cars fulfill their promise by providing fuel-efficient transportation, Google could be again seen as a pioneer, this time taming the wilds of a low-carbon economy for the benefit of average drivers, according to a story in the June 19 Los Angeles Times.
