Some of the nation's most recognized hotel chains -- like Hilton, Marriott and Wyndham -- are investing in energy- and resource-efficient buildings, as they strive to compete for a clientele that is increasingly well-educated about global warming and other environmental issues. And, of course, as the owners and operators of their buildings, hotels are looking to translate energy savings into cost savings. Whatever their reasons, consumers can now factor in the carbon footprint of their hotel choice when traveling, according to a story in the June 11 USA Today.
