Pet Bloggers Fill Food Info Voids

Pet owners concerned about the effects of melamine-tainted pet food often found more credible, easy-to-understand information in the blogosphere than on government Web sites. The blogs distilled the essential information for people so well -- creating, for instance, simple lists of band products categorized by brand -- that the Food and Drug Administration took notice. The agency acknowledged its own Web site was a bit bewildering, and promised to improve its process for getting timely and accurate information to the public, according to a story in the June 5 USA Today.
