Firefighters in California are worried. The fires in and around Los Angeles earlier this month blazed hot and burned long, and forecasters say to expect more of the same all summer. A product of drought, fires are more apt to start and able to burn longer and hotter. It's a condition that
global warming will only exacerbate, scientists predict. Across the country, the crews
fighting the Georgia wildfires are hampered by the wilds of the swamp, and Florida golf courses have
all but dried up, according to a story in the May 29 San Bernardino County Sun.
